I paint outside in open air, or with the subject directly in front of me. I enjoy the challenge of capturing the landscapes of Virginia and North Carolina - mountains, valleys, and coastal areas - where I live and spend most of my time. The more I paint, the more the colors become familiar tools. In my painting, I attempt to capture what moves me for others to see and experience.
